By | May 21, 2018

This week Anne has added 2 new arrangements to the site.  One of which adds to the two band arrangements from last week by J Penny  and the second by the German composer Jean-Paul-Égide Martini. This arrangement of Plaisir d’Amour adds to 8 other arrangements we have on Music Scores for the Voice, Violin, Viola, Flute, Clarinet, Cello, and Bass Clarinet and Baritone Saxophone.  All of which are accompanied by the piano.

Jean-Paul-Égide was a composer of classical music born in 1741.  He was sometimes known as Martini Il Tedesco or Giovanni Martini – not to be confused with Giovanni Battista Martini (especially when referring to Plaisir d’Armour).

Plaisir d’Amour is a classical French love song  and was written in 1784, the text is taken from a poem by Jean-Pierre Claris de Florian (1755–1794), which appears in his novel Célestine.

The song was best known in Martini’s version and consequently he is best known for this piece due to Elvis Presley basing his “Can’t Help Falling in Love” 1961 song on it which became incredibly popular.
