Ramirez&#8221;.&nbsp; As the name &#8220;Sort&#8221; appears in the title it is likely that it refers to&nbsp;<a title=\"Fernando Sor\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fernando_Sor\">Fernando Sor<\/a>, as Sor&#8217;s surname is sometimes also spelled &#8220;Sort&#8221; or &#8220;Sorts&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>In 1952 the piece appeared in Ren\u00e9 Cl\u00e9ment&#8217;s film <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Forbidden_Games\">Jeux Interdits&nbsp;<\/a>(<i>Forbidden Games<\/i>). The popularity of the film made the piece famous. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vBgDq5N6lCs\">Narciso Ypes<\/a> (1927-1997) is listed as the author of the piece.&nbsp; Similarly Vicente Gomez (1911\u20132001) p<sup id=\"cite_ref-gomez_20-0\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>ublished and performed it in 1941 in the Hollywood movie&nbsp;<a title=\"Blood and Sand (1941 film)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Blood_and_Sand_(1941_film)\">Blood and Sand<\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;assigning authorship of the song to himself.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our latest music uploads: Traditional: Spanish Romance Anne has written 6 variations for you to try&#8230;
