Jean Baptiste Arban was born in Lyon, France on 28th February 1825. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have two arrangements his for you to download – Fantasie Brilliante Trumpet<\/a> and Fantasie Brilliante Clarinet.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arban was a cornetist, conductor, teacher as well as a composer, and the first famous virtuoso of the valved cornet. His influence came from Niccol\u00f2 Paganini’s<\/a> technique of the violin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Life, Education & Works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

His father was an artificer and his elder brother; Francisque Arban<\/a> was the famous balloonist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 1841-1845 Arban studied at the famous Paris Conservatoire<\/a> and later taught at Ecole Militaire<\/a> and the Conservatoire. In 1864 he published the ‘Grande m\u00e9thode compl\u00e8te pour cornet \u00e0 pistons et de saxhorn’ known as the Ardan Method<\/a> or the Trumpeter’s Bible, which is still used today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arban’s variations of ‘The Carnival of Venice’ remains a very popular piece for cornet players along with his ‘Fantastie Brilliante’ which is available on music-scores<\/a> for the clarinet and trumpet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
