With over 400,000 items it can be quite hard to narrow down your search, so here are a few handy hints!
- The spelling of a composer's name will produce different results, so do try alternatives. (Rachmaninov or Rachmaninoff are both valid!).
- If the search result is too large then go to the bottom of the screen and narrow the result by entering further information in the box provided. You can search by Composer, Composition (the name of the piece), Instrument, Song (name of the song title), Artist, Method, Album, Video or if you know the publishers reference number use 'other'. These options are in the drop down box within each search box.
- Sometimes the best results are obtained by typing the main component words - eg Bach chorales Schirmer.
- Being too specific may return zero results due to a minor misspelling or a difference between USA and International styles. (Beethoven #5; Beethoven No. 5; Beethoven 5th; will produce different results.)
- The results can be ordered by price, alphabetically, best selling or new releases by using the drop down box at the top of each search result.
- Sheet music is published world wide and there are few common conventions in naming so try to think of words that do not change to increase your choice.
Happy hunting!
