We have marked the difficulty level for sheet music on the site from 1 (Beginner ) to 9 (Expert ). This is a guideline only and not to be confused with grade level.

We do receive feedback from time to time that certain scores marked difficult are in fact 'easy', but please bear in mind the level of speed and expression required on some of the harder works. For example Chopin's Minute waltz is extremely difficult to play in one minute!

To select your skill, please select your instrument from the instrument index and then click on the required skill level. Alternatively select the composer you are interested in, then your instrument and you will then be able to select your skill level.
