Francisco
J. Gil Valencia was born in Granada (Spain), in 1969. Aged six years old,
he began to study Music in preparation for the Conservatory exams of Granada,
and obtained the maximum qualifications. At eighteen he obtained, by competition,
the Professor's square in the specialty of Clarinet. In 1989 he moved
to Italy to study Clarinet with professor Giuseppe Garbarino and received
a scholarship to study in the noted Chigiana Accademia which carries out
studies of Musical Composition with Franco Donatoni and Conducting with
Gennady Rodetsvensky. Their repertoire of compositions include works of
Chamber Music, works for Orchestra, Symphonic Band, String Quartet, Guitar,
Choir, Instrumental Groups, voice and Piano. He is a Professor of Piano
Diplomes and has the following titles, Superior Professor of Clarinet,
Superior Professor of Music Language, Music Theory and Accompaniment,
Superior Professor of Harmony and Accompanied Melody, Counterpoint and
Fugue, Composition and Instrumentation, and Superior Professor of Conducting.
He wrote the Work "Estampas Granadinas" (Granada Postcards) for International
Guitar Festival of Cordoba (Spain) in 1999 and the work "Suite of the
Emotions" for International Festival of Music and Dance of Granada (Spain),
year 2000. That same year he was rewarded in the Sibelius Competition
of Sibelius Software Ltd for the score "Laughing Stock". The Judges of
the National Competitions of Slow Marches Composition for Symphonic Band
"Teacher Perfecto Artola" of Malaga (Spain) and judges of Hoces Nazarenas
of Cuenca Competition have selected him during two years works for the
recording of three compact disks CD dedicated to "Semana Santa" of Malaga
and Cuenca respectively, their folkloric and popular music. In 1991 he
published the book THE CLARINET: "TECHNIQUE AND INTERPRETATION". He is
member of the Association of Composers Symphonic Andalusians (ACSA).
